AI-Built App Audit & Validation

An audit for apps built with AI, before your customers find the gaps

You shipped in weeks what used to take a team months, with Cursor, Claude, Lovable, Bolt, or a contractor using them. Now customers, partners, or investors depend on it. I audit vibe-coded and AI-built applications for security, reliability, and scalability, show you the evidence, and make them production-grade without a rewrite.

At a glance

From “it works” to “we can depend on it”

AI coding tools are very good at getting to a working app. They aren’t good at the things that fail later, quietly, after real customers arrive. The audit finds those, with evidence, and keeps everything that already works.

Who it’s forFounders and companies running an app built with AI coding tools, or by a contractor who used them, that customers, partners, or investors now depend on.
What’s checkedEight areas: secrets, environments, access, personal data, outages, handoffs, backups, and growth.
How it startsA free 5-minute self-check at viberealitycheck.com. No code access, no scan, no email required to see results.
What you getA map of the system, hands-on findings with evidence, and a prioritized plan: what to fix first, what can wait, and what doesn’t need a rebuild.
What it isn’tA rewrite, a slide deck, or an automated scan with a score. I read the code and test the system.
What I check

The eight places AI-built apps fail later

None of these show up in a demo. All of them show up eventually: in a customer security review, a traffic spike, an outage, or the day the person who built it leaves.

01 · Secrets

Leaked secrets

API keys, database credentials, and tokens in the repo, in client-side code, or in a chat history, and whether any of them still work.

02 · Environments

Test data touching real customers

Development, staging, and production that share a database, keys, or email sender, so a test can reach a real customer.

03 · Access

Over-broad access

Users who can read other users’ records, admin routes guarded only in the UI, and integrations that can write when they only need to read.

04 · Personal data

Unmanaged personal data

What personal data you hold, where it’s copied, who can see it, and whether you could answer a customer’s deletion request.

05 · Outages

Silent outages

Errors nobody sees, jobs that stop without alerting anyone, and outages your customers report before you notice.

06 · Handoffs

Code nobody else can maintain

Whether a new developer, or a new AI session, could run, change, and deploy the app without the person who built it.

07 · Backups

Backups never restored

Backups that exist on paper but have never been restored, and how much data you’d actually lose on a bad day.

08 · Growth

Growth the architecture can’t absorb

The queries, limits, and design choices that work for a hundred users and fall over at ten thousand.

How it works

    Vibe Reality Check

Eight plain-English questions with practical next steps, an optional printable checklist for your developer, and a free PDF guide: Eight signs your AI-built app needs a closer look.

  2. 2
    30 days

    Architecture Discovery

I map what was built, how it fits together, and what it depends on, then examine the highest-priority gaps hands-on and deliver a prioritized plan.

    Harden & Hand Off

I fix the gaps alongside your team or your AI tools, and leave a system someone else can maintain.

Evidence, not adjectives Typical findings

What the discovery hands you

Every finding with the evidence behind it and a verdict you can act on.

Findings are graded the same way everywhere on this site: Critical means fix it first, Needs work means schedule it, Pass means leave it alone. Most AI-built apps have a handful of criticals and a lot that’s fine, which is why the answer is almost never a rewrite.

If the app handles regulated data or needs a formal penetration test, I bring in my security practice, geearr.com.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What is a vibe-coded app?
An application built mostly by prompting AI coding tools rather than writing the code by hand. It’s a fast, legitimate way to ship. The risk is that the tools optimize for “it works,” and the things that fail later (access control, secrets, backups, scaling) don’t show up until real customers do.
Which AI coding tools do you audit apps from?
Any of them: Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, Bolt, Replit, v0, GitHub Copilot, or a contractor using them. The audit looks at what was built and how it runs, not at which tool wrote it.
How is this different from a penetration test?
A penetration test probes for ways in. The audit covers security too, but also reliability, maintainability, data handling, and whether the architecture can grow, and it ends with a fix plan rather than a list of vulnerabilities. When you need a formal pentest, my security practice, geearr.com, does those.
Do I have to give you my code to start?
No. The Vibe Reality Check is eight plain-English questions with no code access, no scan, and no email required to see your results. Code access comes later, in the Architecture Discovery, if you choose to go further.
What do I get at the end of the 30-day Architecture Discovery?
A map of the system, findings from hands-on testing with the evidence behind each one, and a prioritized plan: what to fix first, what can wait, and what doesn’t need a rebuild.
Will you tell me to rebuild it?
Rarely. Most AI-built apps have a few critical gaps and a lot that works. The point of the audit is to find out, with evidence, whether you already have a system worth building on. Usually you do.
Can my team or our AI tools do the fixes?
Yes. I can fix the gaps myself, work alongside your developers, or write the fixes up so your AI tools can implement them, and then verify the result.
How do I get started?
